NextGen Transit Plan
New Changes Coming Your Way in January 2025
- Extension of weekday service hours to 8:00 p.m. for the local fixed routes and Dial-A-Ride for eligible persons.
- Elimination of the underutilized evening, general public Dial-A-Ride service that currently runs until 9:30PM p.m. on weekdays.
- Increase in the daily local fixed route Fare Cap from $3 to $4.50 for the Basic Fare Daily Cap, and from $1.50 to $2.25 for the Discount Fare Daily Cap.
- Increase in the selling price of local fixed route Monthly Passes from $10 to $20 for Basic Monthly Passes, and from $5 to $10 for Discount Monthly Passes. The selling price of these passes will continue to be reduced from the actual price ($30/$40) as long as grant funding is available.

*Daily Cap does not apply to Dial-A-Ride and Rural fares. The local fixed route daily cap and all monthly passes are available only with a Connect Card electronic fare card.
Note: Per Board action, initial plans no longer include elimination of Routes 2 and 5, or new on-demand (microtransit) service in Yuba City.

Public Hearing set for Thursday, December 19, 2024
- Introduce the launch of the on-demand (microtransit) service as an additional service in Linda and Olivehurst with substantial advantages, including enhanced productivity and significant community impact.
- If approved, this plan alternative would become effective on or after March 3, 2025.
The Yuba-Sutter Transit Board of Directors has set a hearing for Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 4:05 p.m. at the Yuba County Government Center, Supervisors Chambers located at 915 Eighth Street, Marysville, CA to accept public comments on the proposed local service plan alternative that, if approved, would become effective on or after March 3, 2025.
Interested persons may submit comments regarding the proposed local service plan alternative, either verbally or in writing, before or at the public hearing. Written comments can be provided by e-mail to info@yubasuttertransit.com, mail to Yuba-Sutter Transit at 2100 B Street, Marysville, CA 95901, or FAX at (530) 634-6888. All written communication must be received prior to the hearing to be considered. Verbal testimony can be provided in person at the hearing or by telephone at (530) 634-6880 prior to the hearing.
